<Back  |  Continue Watching >     Go directly To Training >

We’ll be discussing Infection Control practices and strategies for body artists in this course. You will acquire knowledge about the transmission of infectious diseases and bloodborne pathogens, along with several aseptic methods to safeguard both you and your patients.

Body piercers and tattoo artists need to be completely informed of the risks associated with their profession, including how to avoid getting sick. In addition, they have to adhere to health and safety protocols and cleaning methods to safeguard both themselves and their customers against bloodborne infections and infectious illnesses caused by bacteria, fungus, and viruses.

The majority of you are probably well aware that tattoos are applied by injecting ink into the dermis, or inner layer of skin, using a needle that is hooked to a handheld device and vibrates several hundred times per minute.

Unsterilized equipment, tainted ink, incorrect handling of needles, and inadequate washing of surfaces and patients’ skin before any treatments can all result in the transmission of infections. And the individual getting the tattoo or piercing may have bacteria, viruses, or fungi on their skin.
